Windows 10: 222H2 update fails during restart

Hi,I am on 20H2 Win 10 and have been trying to upgrade to 22H2. The installation always gets to 100% and says to restart but on restart it says it can’t be completed and rolls back to 20H2.I’ve been through the answers and tried the following:1. Stopping services, renaming the components and. Restarting the services2. Running windows update troubleshooter3. using DISM online4. Used DISM online then SFC /scannow- this says it cannot be completed but there are no errors in the CBS.log5. Uninstalled AV, suspended windows defender, ran DISM and scannow again - still says it cannot be competed bu

When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.

I am on 20H2 Win 10 and have been trying to upgrade to 22H2. The installation always gets to 100% and says to restart but on restart it says it can’t be completed and rolls back to 20H2.

I’ve been through the answers and tried the following:

1. Stopping services, renaming the components and. Restarting the services

2. Running windows update troubleshooter

3. using DISM online

4. Used DISM online then SFC /scannow

- this says it cannot be completed but there are no errors in the CBS.log

5. Uninstalled AV, suspended windows defender, ran DISM and scannow again

- still says it cannot be competed but no errors in the CBS.log

6. Ran the 22H2 update from MS website - fails in the same place

7. Downloaded the USB and ISO version but still fails on restart.

I don’t need to keep any data. What else should I do to install 22H2 Win 10?

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
