Windows 10: 23h2 Windows file explorer roll back

I initially had issues installing the 23h2 feature update and I decided to reinstall windows with the windows 11 ISO which I downloaded this week. Install went fine and the feature update installed perfectly. However today when booted up I was prompted restart for a Windows Configuration Update and I now find that the file explorer has reverted back to previous older version. What gives microsoft!

I've updated to 23h2 but the new file explorer does not seem to have been installed.

By "new File Explorer", I assume you mean the one with removable/mergeable tabs. I have that on three of my four test builds:

Release 22H2 Yes

Beta 23H2 No

Dev 22H2 Yes

Canary 23H2 Yes

Microsoft deploys updates in stages or, apparently, in groups for A/B comparison purposes. It's probably just a matter of time before the update comes to your machine. AFAIK, all you can do is set it to receive the latest updates (which you've probably already done) and be patient.

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
