"Quickbooks has stopped working" A problem has caused quickbooks to stop working correctly. windows will close the program & notify you if a solution is available.

Sigh... support should re-read their responses before posting! Anyway, the correct reply is:

1) Go to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Intuit\QuickBooks 2010 (for Win 7/10) and rename QBWUser.ini. If you are using WinXP, the area is C:\documents and settings\.....

2) Go to C:\C:\Program Files (x86)\Intuit\QuickBooks 2010 (for Win 7/10) and run reboot.bat (it re-registers the various dll files for QB 2010.) Be sure you are in the QuickBooks 2010 area if you have multiple editions installed or you won't reset the
correct dlls. If you only have one installation, it won't matter.

3) If you created the blocking rules in the windows firewall (advance) for Quickbooks, either disable or remove the rules rules.

4) Go back to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Intuit\QuickBooks 2010 and rename the file from step 1 to QBWUser.ini

I verified that once this was done, QB 2010 was working again without blocking the internet access.

2. Mark the Hidden items checkbox with a single tap and move to C: Documents and Settings/AllUsers/ApplicationData/Intuit/QuickBooks.
   
3. Right-click the QBWUSER.ini file in the location and select the Rename option.
   
4. Type ‘.old’ at the file name’s end as an extension and save it as ‘QBWUSER.ini.old’ on your system.
   
5. Relaunch QuickBooks.

Method 2- Grant admin rights to QuickBooks to prevent crashes during its launch

1. Are you trying to create a backup file or restore it?
   
2. When you say ‘it kicks out’, do you mean you are out of the application? Or is it getting stuck?
   
3. Which version of QuickBooks is installed on your machine?
   
4. Do you read any error code/message regarding the issue?
   

This issue could occur when the backup location is no longer accessible. So, I suggest you to verify the file location and reboot your computer. If that doesn’t help, you may check if the steps listed below and see if it helps.

Method: Repair the application.

• On the Start menu, enter Control Panel in the search box and select Control Panel from the results.
  
• Select Programs > Programs and Features, and then select the program (QuickBooks Online).
  
• To fix the program, select Repair or, if that’s not available,
  Change.
  
• Follow the directions on the screen.
  

If repair application doesn’t work, I would suggest you to Uninstall the application and
Re-install it.

However, I would suggest you to contact Intuit QuickBooks support to re-install the application.
