Windows 10: 24 Gigabytes lost

I lost 24 gigabytes thanks to windows store. So I went to download disney infinity 3.0 which is 12 gigabytes, but I decided to cancel the download, well even after I canceled the download and never installed it shows my hard drive space shrunk by 12 gigabytes. So I thought cleaning the computer would help fix the issue but it didn't, so I thought maybe if I try and reinstall the game, and cancel it this time it will work, nope instead it took another 12 gigabytes from my hard drive, 24 gigabytes in all. I am stumped, not sure what to do to fix this problem, any ideas?

Other could be anything really, stored app data (which will not be removed unless you remove the app), cache, workspace for the OS, I guess some sort of swap space like you would have for Windows.



Without knowing what your phone would look like after it's initial boot it's hard to tell.

 

uTorrent reserves the disk space of a download from start. That is before it has even downloaded the first bytes, it reserves the full 12GB on your hard disk. To release the space you have to go to the download folder and delete the relevant files or folder. Alternatively, you can go in uTorrent, right-click on the download and select Remove and delete torrent+data. Save the .torrent file on your documents or download folder and when you decide to download the game again, just double-click it to open with uTorrent.

 

Thanks for replying, but I do not have uTorrent. I searched every download folder I could find on my system, even the hidden windows app folder, but found no trace of the disney infinity 3.0, still trying to solve the issue, as I am missing 24gb from my hard drive, and cleaning didn't helped, restarting, nothing.

 

Open This PC, then C: (your hard disk) then Users and then the folder with your user name. Then open AppData (hidden, you must enable hidden folders), Local, Temp. Delete any files and folders there.

 

You can always try a program like WinDirStat to find out where your data is taking up the most space.

 

I fixed it, well more like just reset windows 10, but it fixed it.
