Windows 10: 24h2 Printer and Network Drive Problems

I installed 24h2 and the subsequent updates associated with this update, and three days later I noticed I could no longer access my mapped network drives, and I can't print to any of my printers.Network Drives:I found out that the credentials were supposedly incorrect even though I know they were not and would not accept any credentials I typed in. I tried removing the mapped drives, removing and re entering the credentials like six times, stopping and starting network file sharring on both computers, made sure both computers were using the same encryption, double checked the settings in the

Win 10 Network Printer Connection Problem

I have tried, when using the wifi from a Win 7 computer to connect to the printer connected to it. Others can connect.

I did do the three steps outlined:

• Open File Explorer. Pick the "Network" icon from the left pane (navigation pane) of the file explorer UI.
• If sharing is turned off you will see a pale yellow line towards the top of the window that states "Network Discovery is turned off. Network computers and devices are not visible. Click to change...".
• Click this bar and select "Turn on network discovery and file sharing"

None of the suggestion worked.

I did notice that the PC I'm connecting to is 'Private' while I am listed as 'Public'.

• Can this be causing the problem?
• Are there other suggestions?

I need to be connected to use the other printer so work flow can not be disrupted and someone else needs to print the file for me.

problem sharing printers and drives over wireless network

didnt quite know where to post this, so i just posted it here.

the situation is as following:

i have 3 computers. this desktop and a pair of laptops, one old and one new. both laptops have wireless 802.11g connectivity, the new one has it built in, and the old one uses a wireless d-link network PCMCIA expansion card.
i use a d-link DI-624 "extreme" 802.11g, 2.4ghz wireless router.

when it comes to basic internet, everything works fine and dandy from the desktop and both laptops. the router acesses the net and dishes out everything it needs to dish out...

i also have two printers, an HP deskjet 840C ink printer and a lexmark E232 laser printer (which is my default and preferred printer), and an external USB2.0 hard drive all hooked up to the desktop computer.

the thing i'm having a problem with is making the external drive and any of the printers available on the wireless network. i've enabled drive and printer sharing, everything that needs to be marked as "shared" is marked as shared, and everything that needs to be turned on is turned on. (at least i think/hope it is...)

but neither of the laptops "see" any of the printers or the external drive.
i figure its some sort of silly stupid definition that needs to be changed from one thing to another to make it work, but i just dont know what seeing as i am fairly new to the whole "networking" thing...

any help would be greatly appriciated.

What is the exact error message you receive?

I suggest you to run the Printer Troubleshooter and check if it helps.

  In Search window type Troubleshooting and click on it to open it.
  
• 
  Click on Hardware and Sound.
  
• 
  Then click on Printer to run the troubleshooter. Follow onscreen steps.
