Windows 10: [24H2] Win Update breaks Apps,WiFi, Drives etc

So I updated my Windows 11 Home to 24H2 but I got problems such as: Slow loading time, Taskbar gone and have to wait over 5 mins to appear, WiFi is not in the WiFi tray, Task Manager is very very slow and if open it its literally showing the same exact information for some minutes untill they get updated like in the "old" one and when I close it it's frozen. Also the Snipping Tool doesn't work at all. Also my startup apps aren't starting anymore when windows startsMy Nvidia drivers not even working properly anymore, I cant even open the Nvidia Settings driver appI updated it once before,

Windows update breaks WIFI and LAN network connections

After applying the latest anniversary windows update my system loses all network access WIFI and LAN

The network connections page is empty! Totally stuck, luckily had a restore point which restores connectivity.

Observations

• WIFI card in device in device manager
• Device working properly
• Nothing in network center (should be)
• Ipconfig /all shows my Wifi afapter but it says Media disonnected.
• Ping always says Transmit failure
• Device is Realtek and it had USB ports which still works
• Restore to pre update fixes problem although Network still looks odd

Tried

• Restarting
  
  Removing and reinstalling device
• Disabling windows defender and firewall
• NETSH ip reset etc
• IPConfig /renew and IPConfig /release
• Troubleshooting network problems - says could not fix try powering off etc.
  

Other facts

• Win 8 box upgraded to win 10 and insider program
• Had Malwarebytes installed, uninstall didnt help
• Only way to fix is to restore back to before windows update

What the ****, its like being back in the old Win98 days! any suggestions?

Update: So had to resort to fully disabling Windows Update because it totally breaks the network on every auto update. Not ideal. I dont even know if it will let me re-install Windows 10 because I upgraded an old Windows 8 version using
the Insider program.

I have 5 years of programs that I will lose either way so I guess I will just never be able to update W10.

Do you remember installing any break reminder software?



It looks like it is a pop up from a break reminder software.



I suggest you to look for this in Programs in features and uninstall it if do not use it.



Try the following steps:

• 
  Press Windows + R keys to open Run Command
  
• 
  Type Appwiz.cpl and hit enter
  
• 
  Search for the programs and un-install it.

How in WIN 11 do I change the drive letter of the CD/ROM drive?

So this is what worked, step by step.

Reboot

Drive is listed as E: in file explorer.

Drive not listed in Disk Management.

Insert DVD, it plays after short pause.

Disk management now shows Audio CD as E:

Right click, change letter to R: (while playing!)

Reboot.

Drive now shows as BD-RE drive as R: in File Explorer.

The bottom line is

- File Explorer does not provide for changing drive letter afics.

- Disk Management seems to need a disk to be in the drive for it to "see" the drive. I can't recall is this is Win 10 behaviour

I don't recall having any difficulty with this in Win 10 (its possible that the Win 10 default drive allocation was "after" my external drives; or I "just changed it").
