Windows 10: 2nd Hard Drive locked in Data Pool Windows10

I have a Windows-10 64 bit Desktop with the latest updates installed. It boots from a 750GB HDD SATA. I added a 2nd HDD: a WD black 2TB HDD, SATA. In Bios my computer will see the 2nd HDD. Once I boot into Windows tho it's invisible. When I check storage spaces: it shows that the new drive has been added to a Storage Pool using 0.02% of its capacity 1.81 TB. I am unable to delete this pool as it said it put un-erasable data on it. I cannot delete the new data it put on it either, I can rename it though. Note that this drive is brand new: I took it out of the bag & stuck it on

Hard Drive Data Recovery

got a laptop pata hard drive that makes a slight constant clicking noise. hard drive is more than likely dead/dying right... i can see that partitions of the hard drive in disk management and i can see the partitions in my computer but i can't get to any of the data.

any suggestions?

Well, I'm sorry to hear that it's a WD My Passport that failed on you, @tomhenry ! *Frown
I'd recommend you to try using a different USB cable with it and see if that will help your system to detect it without it disconnecting.
I'd also suggest you to go to Disk Management and see how the drive is listed there. It won't hurt to check up on the health and SMART status of the HDD by running the QUICK and EXTENDED tests from the WD's Data LifeGuard Diagnostics.
