Windows 10: 2nd Monitor Not Opening Programs

I am using Samsung TV (brand new) as a 2nd monitor for a ThinkPad laptop with Windows 10. I have it set to "Extend" and can see the desktop and task bar on the screen. When I open something on my laptop, it works just fine. When I try to open something on the monitor, it displays it on my laptop. Nothing will open only on my 2nd monitor. What am I doing wrong?

Fullscreen does not show up at the same monitor where it is first located

I run 3 monitors. Usually the last program you close out on which ever monitor determines if that type of program or windows explorer will display that last display setting.

also if you open for example explorer and drag it to 2nd monitor and close it out on 2nd monitor, then next time you open explorer, it will open on 2nd monitor. If it was full screen when closed, it will be opening it full screen. If it was normal windows
size when closed, then it will be normal when opened again. This usually is the rule for all applications.

But many programs will open in normal size and on the 1st monitor every time no matter what is was set to or location when you last closed it.

 

Once it opens, can you drag it to second monitor ?

 

its the default thing how the windows works, so its fine. you need to grab the top of the window and drag it to the second screen as stated above by @CountMike *Smile
