    2nd Monitor not receiving input unless its duplicating main display instead of extending it


    Basically what the title says. The main monitor is hdmi plugged directly into the graphics card while 2nd monitor is a usb to vga plugged directly into the motherboard.Drivers are fully updatedI've tried using different ports and a different VGA cable.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thanks in advance

    2nd monitor not working

    My 2nd monitor was working fine. Now it is not. When I select display options, I am no longer given the option to extend the display. My 2nd monitor says it is not receiving input from my computer. It did just fine until a couple of days ago.

    How to stop automatic duplicate/extend displays


    Hello all! I'm using my Windows 10 laptop with a secondary external monitor which i want to use as a display, without the laptop's built-in display. The problem is, despite i set to show the image only on the secondary (external) monitor, after each restart or after i close the laptop's lid, it reverts to duplicating the image (or extends it, if select extend inside of duplicate). How can i stop this?? I have to manually reselect to show the image on the 2nd display only. Thanks!

    Hi

    Thank you for helping me. When it is on duplicated both monitors have same resolution, however, the 2nd monitor the text is unreadable and screen blurred. If on extended my default monitor is fine but the 2nd monitor goes off and my laptop screen comes on.
    I wish to have both default and second monitor displaying at the same time. As it is the 2nd monitor drop down resolution is showing 800x600 and is faded out and unable to change it.
