Windows 10: 2nd monitor turned off but still detected

I am using 2 monitors, Dell P2217H through through HDMI as the second.The GPU is RTX2060 if that's any relevant.My problem is that even when I turn it off , it is still detected and shown in both Windows Display Settings and NVIDIA Control Panel. I tried to turn off my main monitor and it disappear from Windows just fine. The only way to get the second monitor undetected when not being used is unplugging it, which is very inconvenient.I wonder is there any way that I could solve the problem for good?Thank you in advance

Windows 10 stopped detecting 2nd monitor

I've restarted the computer (several times), and it's not showing any signs of detecting the 2nd monitor.

Ever since it stopped working, there's only '1' Display option; clicking 'Detect' in Multiple displays results in the message
"Didn't detect another display"; the Device Manager only lists one monitor (screenshot below); and it has stopped allowing me to select other projection modes unless I connect to the 2nd monitor wirelessly.

I'm using an HDMI cable for the 2nd monitor, and have tried both HDMI ports on the monitor unsuccessfully. The monitor models are Dell E2414H and LG 24J4840.

2nd monitor not being detected

Received a software update for windows 10. Upon restart my 2nd monitor was no longer working. Went to the display section in Settings and it is not being detected. Pushed the detect button and nothing. How do I get this back. My 2nd monitor is more
important than any new things in the update.

 

Windows 10 Not Detecting 2nd Monitor

this recommendation is useless. I followed every step and the troubleshooter said no problems detected. When I had Windows 8.1 I was able to simply plug in my monitor (HannsG 28") via micro HDMI port and it was able to detect it. But Windows 10 does not detect
my second monitor. The system just does not see it.
