Windows 10: 2nd monitor turns solid white when a game is run in Fullscreen mode on primary monitor

After finally updating to Windows 11 I have a new problem. I used to play a full-screen game on the primary monitor while still being able to watch Netflix on a browser or keep another app open on the 2nd monitor. Now, if I try to do the same after updating to Windows 11 the 2nd monitor turns solid white. I can alt-tab and it shows correctly again, but if I go back into the full-screen app, it goes solid white again.1st monitor is a Samsung 40" 4k smart tv in 4k with scaling set to 200% so that I can read text2nd monitor is a DELL 24" computer monitor in 1080I've noticed 3 things. Games no longer work on primary monitor

Hello

I am having an issue where it appears that the I cannot run ANY game on my primary monitor anymore natively.

If I run a game at 1920x1080 or lower resolution, it displays on my secondary monitor which natively runs at x1080. My primary is at 3840x2160. No matter how many times I select 'display 1' in whatever game or program I am using, it still uses the secondary
monitor for some reason.

The only workarounds I have found are upping the display resolution or running the game in windowed mode (can't do fullscreen as it just defaults back to secondary monitor for no reason.)

Bonus issue: If I disable the display in Windows, or otherwise unplug it - any game I try to run afterwards doesn't work at all!

Is there any way to fix this issue so that I can get software to properly run on my primary monitor without changing the display resolution? This has really been bugging me and so far nothing has worked.

I am running Windows 10 Pro (64 bit) and have a NVIDIA 980 GTX.

Second monitor showing white


Hi, new user here. I have a double monitor setup as an extended desktop. It's worked great for several years, no issues. As of yesterday, the 2nd monitor only shows solid white. The monitor shows it's receiving a signal by the colour on the power switch LED. If I switch display settings to monitor 1 only, monitor 2 goes to sleep as expected, but whenever I try to use monitor 2 as primary or extended or clone of monitor 1, it only shows solid white.Device manager shows the monitor (Generic PnP Monitor), so windows knows it's there. Yesterday I got it to work OK by switching to use Monitor 1 only and then back to Extended mode. But when I put the PC to sleep and came back, it reverted to only white on Monitor 2.I tried to plug Monitor 2 into my laptop as a projector, and it wouldn't work - again, only solid white.Plugged back into the desktop and it's working OK in Extended mode.

Next morning, woke up the PC and again, showing white.

Any ideas how to troubleshoot this?

UPDATE: just tried to switch it off, then on again. This didn't do anything yesterday, but today it fixed the problem. This is getting really random.

Games in Fullscreen don't work on main Monitor

Hey, I have this problem where i cant play my favorite games like CS:GO on my main monitor in FULLSCREEN without the game flickering on launch of just having a black screen. However if i make my second monitor the main display the game works perfectly.

The monitor im having problems with is the BenQ XL2411Z

The second monitor is LG 29UM65

I find this really important because i run CrossFire and i dont get the benefit of extra fps if im not running the game in FULLSCREEN

(ps: the game runs fine in windowed mode but thats not what i want!)
