  1. [2nd time] Windows Update Killed My Video Port

Computer - Dell Optiplex 3080 - DP Video Port + HDMI Port 8 GB RAMMonitors - Two 29" LG Ultrawide.Yesterday. both monitors were working fine. Had pending updates, and let those install, and shut down the computer upon leaving for the day.Today I come in, and only 1 monitor works. Spoke to dell support for 1.5 hours, and it was determined the video port is bad. The motherboard will be replaced.Mind you, this is the exact same thing that occurred 1 month ago. Updated Friday before leaving work for the weekend. Monday morning, 1 monitor was working.About to have the motherboard replaced AGAIN.Sys

  2. Anniversary Windows 10 update kills USB ports and WiFi

    Dear All,

yesterday two updates were installed on my Dell Latitude E6520:

    • KB3194496
    • KB3194798
After while my cordless mouse stopped working and I also lost my Internet connection.

I've restarted PC several times with no progress.

Finally I found similar problems here:

KB3194798 kills the USB ports again...

I've tried uninstall those updates, but the problem remains.

I've tried to boot into Safe mode and - my mouse works again ! I couldn't test my WiFi as there is Airplain mode by default and it cannot be deactivated (!) But I believe the root cause is same: something has been updated, however, it wasn't undeployed
together with uninstalling aforementioned KBs and now it is clashing.

From my observation, USB and WiFi works short time after Windows boot, but it is suddenly broken. I think so as there is list of surrounding WiFi networks after boot, which later dissapears. And when (another) laser cord mouse is plugged during boot, it
flashes, but after while it doesn't emit any lights.

Any idea how to fix this?

    Thanks, Jan

[2nd time] Windows Update Killed My Video Port

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond [2nd time] Windows Update Killed My Video Port :) Best regards.

And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.
