  1. 3 display setup - issues with running games and windows resolution changes.

I am currently running a triple display setup: two side-by-side 1080p monitors (#1 and 2) with 1 being extended to 2 like a typical dual screen setup, and an active HDMI switch leading to a TV (#3), set to duplicate screen 1. The HDMI switch itself, not the TV, is considered by Windows as display 3, as long as the switch is set to the PC input. The goal is to be able to run dual screens on my desk, and run games from either screen 1 or the TV.

There are no issues running games on the TV with screen 1 and 2 powered off, however when I try to run games on screen 1, while both 1 and 2 are powered on, windows force-changes its resolution to a lower one even though everything including the game is set to 1080p and screen 1 is duplicated onto 3, not extended. It also throws everything on the desktop on screen 1 over to screen 2 and makes a mess of it. Upon exiting or minimizing the game, everything returns to screen 1 and the resolution changes "back" to 1080p. This resolution change is odd in that nothing appears to actually be lower resolution, it just "crunches down" as if the physical screen bounds changed when they didn't, if that makes any sense.

I'm running a GTX 1070 if that matters. Any ideas on how I can fix this?
