  1. 30-40 second boot time on SSD - can't seem to lower it no matter what

Windows Version: 20H2 (19042.1110) So for the past few months now I've been trying to tackle this issue where my startup time is rather slow for an SSD. The BIOS time in task manager reports anywhere from 30-40 seconds. I can't seem to get it lowered no matter what I try. The results are basically the same regardless of whether or not fast startup is enabled. My install type is UEFI, and not CSM. Secure boot is enabled. I've tried the usual: disabling services, turning off startup items, updating drivers, uninstalling unused programs, setting power to "Ultimate Performance" plan, disabling GUI boot, disabling unused devices/ports in device manager, running sfc and DISM, disabling optional features, etc... but it doesn't seem to be helping much at all. I'm at my wit's end and I'm not sure what else I could try. I would rather avoid a clean reinstall as much as possible, since doing so would take me hours to get things I need set back up, and seeing as Windows 11 is just months away, I would rather not reinstall 10 only to potentially upgrade right afterwards. I did run a boot trace just now, but I'm not sure what exactly to be looking for or how to navigate it in the performance analyzer. There's simply too many graphs and data for me to know what to look at. Here's a link to it if anyone can figure out what's causing it to take so long - WeTransfer Thanks in advance! If there's any required information I missed, please let me know and I'll try to provide it if possible.

    :)

Windows 10 02:30 boot time with Toshiba THNSF5256GPUK SSD

    Hi,

    Thanks for your feedback,

Did you notice that the bios is the latest version since I replaced it before 2 days.

And that with only the SSD connected to the laptop,

And the USB windows installation I downloaded from the site before 2 days,

The result is that windows can only be Installed on "Disk 3"

I use Command Prompt to clear Disk 0+Disk 1+Disk 2, but Disk 4 stay Disk 4, if I give up and I click next, the result is 2:30 minutes boot time.

If instead of the SSD I use another Hard drive, every thing is fine.

But in any given time adding the SSD back to the laptop, also if the SSD is added as Unallocated drive,

It slow the boot time of the PC to 2:30 minutes.

But to installing this SSD there is also a very big advantage, the SSD is super fast:

30-40 second boot time on SSD - can't seem to lower it no matter what [IMG]

This is why I am kinda forced to soak up with 2:30 boot time, What I am asking is if there is a way to just solve this thing that happen in the
BIOS-TO-Windows 10 installation range. so that I will be able to install windows, on disk 0?

    Few test result for example:

    1) Windows installation on disk 0 - disk 0 is WD, no other Hard drive are connected:

    Boot time 50 seconds.

    2) Windows installation on disk 3 - disk 3 is SSD, no other Hard drive are connected:

    Boot time 150 seconds.

    3) Windows installation on disk 0 - disk 0 is WD, Unalloctad SSD is connected:

    Boot time 150 seconds, DISKPART show WD is DISK 4, Disk 0 + Disk 1 + Disk 2 +Disk 3 are 0 MB Unalloctad.

    4) Windows installation on disk 4 - disk 4 is WD, Unalloctad SSD is connected, Uninstalling disk 0-3 from Device Manager and doing
    Restart:

    Boot time 50 seconds, DISKPART show WD is DISK 4, Disk 0 + Disk 1 + Disk 2 +Disk 3 are 0 MB Unalloctad.

So I did find a way to restart windows 10 with the SSD connected but Unallocated, and restart the PC in less then 150 seconds, but I want to be able to use this SSD and have windows installed on it.

I hope this test result help clearify the situation, I wish you will be able to assit me more with this info.

My computer freezes and it takes 30 to 40 seconds to download anything.

I have been having multiple problems since recent Windows 10 updates. for the past several days, it takes 30 to 40 seconds to download anything. And, frequently, my screen turns blue and I get an error message that Windows needs to shut down and restart....nothing
improves when that happens. Any suggestions?

30-40 second boot time on SSD - can't seem to lower it no matter what

Windows 10 SSD Boot and Sleep faliure

Windows cannot stop the BIOS recognising the SSD. If at any time you can go into the BIOS and the SSD is not listed then you have an (intermittent) hardware fault. It does not matter what the precursor steps are if the hardware was OK it must be listed

Step 6 is categorical, you have a hardware fault. BIOS device recognition is always before drivers load so they cannot affect the process
