Windows 10: 3024-11 cumulative update wiped files on desktop and network drive no warning

I stupidly updated the 2024-11 Cumulative update for windows 23h2 for x64-based systems Kb5046633 and potentially I would of had no option as it won’t let you snooze or pause after a certain time point.It wiped without notice files and photos on my desktopIt’s wiped my network drives, have no idea to put those back onReset my taskbarPut edge as the default when that’s not my settingI have no idea which of my multiple accounts to sync my dataAnd to top that off I couldn’t log in even if I want to as it has turned my @ key into “.I’m using another device to log this vent/messageI am unable to ro

Windows 11 Probling with maping a network drive.

Desktop hard drive wiped after most recent windows update

Hi Igor, the SSD is OEM and came with the desktop as the primary OS drive. The SSD was completely wiped, nothing left on it. Ran diagnostics on the drive and it indicates a functional and ready to go. Cannot understand how it got wiped. No warnings or
approval to format the drive were evident. Only a windows update, and then all gone.

 

windows 10 deleted my desktop files

Step 1 - I upgraded to Win 10 and lost all my files on Desktop.

Step 2 - Found the files in Network - USers- Desktop

copied all files again to desktop.

Step 3- Restarted my machine again and lost desktop files again.

Step 4 - As suggested did the following as listed below but dont find my files.

• Press “Windows + E”, open This PC/Computer
• Open Local Disc C, open Windows.old
• Click on Users, select your User name
• Go to desktop folder

Cant find my files. Why is Win 10 deleted files again and again from Desktop ?.
