Windows 10: 32-bit or 64-bit and 8 or 10 with current specifications

Hi, I am thinking about upgrading my laptop, from my windows 7 Professional 64-bit to either 8 or 10, can't decide which, and 32-bit or 64 bit. To sum it up, I have a 2.40Ghz Intel 2duo 2core processor, 4gb DDR3 ram, and directx11 Mobile Intel 4 express chipset gpu, here's screenshots of directX and system info below, so I was wondering which would better suit my low/low-mediocre laptop, windows 8 or 10, and 32-bit or 64 bit, I game quite a bit, main games are League of Legends, Combat Arms, and Minecraft. I am much more of a hardware guy than a software guy lol.

64-bit or 32-bit window 10

Hi can you please advise? My laptop is 64 bit windows 7 with 1gb ram.I have to download via the media creation as the app fails saying I don't meet requirements. I want to download the 32 bit that requires 1gb ram but windows will only allow the
64 bit to download.

 

Frankly, I am not sure it is worth the effort upgrading. The cost of a new licence would pay a significant fraction of the cost of a more powerful pc.

If you stick with it, go with 64bit w10.

 

4GB of RAM is a point where either 32 or 64 bit OS make sense. 32 bit can't make use of all 4gb of RAM but 64bit uses more so it's about same thing. Other thing to consider is SW you are using and if it's 32 or 64. 64bit windows can use both but 32bit can't use 64bit programs.
As for going to W10, main thing to consider is if there are adequate drivers for your computer and if you can make use of Dx12.
I believe there's still a way to upgrade from W7: All the Ways You Can Still Get Windows 10 for Free so you can try and see.

 

Go for 64bit and win 10 it boots up fast as well

My response there:

Dell only (officially) supports XP and Vista on this model.

 

Oooops, that's too early model. Almost anything that came with W7 is almost guaranteed to work with W8/10 even if they don't support it officially. That's even more true for laptops and brand name computers.

 

I have a similar old Lenovo with that CPU and chipset - I had to upgrade the RAM, and slot an SSD in there tho' - but it works fine with Win Pro 10 x64 - in fact it's snappier than my Dell i5 with HDD.
