3D builder can't subtract or zoom?

I am wanting to edit an object, by adding another object to it & then subtracting. But the subtract button is greyed out. I have tried turning on & off snap & collision in settings, to no avail.I also can't work out how to zoom. Instructs say roll the mouse, but I'm on a laptop & can't make it work.

    :)

Question about 3D builder for Windows 10

Sorry for the late response. It should be able to zoom in normally. It is possible that there are bugs on the
3D Builder, causing zoom in issues. Kindly try resetting the
    3D Builder
. To do so, follow these steps:

    • On the search box, search and open Apps & features.
    • Find and select the 3D Builder.
    • Click Advance options.
    • Click Reset.

Let us know how things go.

  3. 3D Builder - Subtraction Bugs

I have been experiencing multiple issues when joining (merge function) and subtracting objects from other objects. Lots of triangular artifacts that look like root vertices are not endgons. Hard to see with the wireframe mode turned on what is really going
on. 3D Builder has promise ONLY if it gets a true mesh editor, or at least better than a simple slider for controlling subdivisions and vertex counts. It is simple and intuitive, but very limited in capability. There is no way to even round off a corner. Frustrating.
Please tell me you are working on a remesh editor?!?!?!

    3d builder

    Hi Dennis,

I'm an engineer on the 3D Builder team.

It is a known bug in 3D Builder that some subtracts lead to objects that can't be repaired.

We apologize. We are however working on a solution for a future update.

    Thanks for letting us know.
