Windows 10: 3rd party antivirus is turned on but windows defender is turned on to.

Hi Microsoft i have a problem with Windows defender that say microsoft defneder is turned on and my 3rd party antivirus is turned on. normally my 3rd party antivirus is turned on and microsoft defender is turned off but for some reason microsoft defender turns on when my 3rd party antivirus is on microsoft disable itself when install a 3rd part av but for me it does not

These statements are widespread on the Web, but my experience is that Windows Defender doesn't need to slink off into the night when another protector shows up.

Some AVs work better than others alongside Windows Defender (WD). Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (MBAM) works happily with WD, so long as it's set correctly. And it's not hard to set MBAM so that WD is not only not crippled, but continues to offer real-time protection. They work just differently enough not to get in each other's way.

They do work together. I use Bitdefender, but yours will look the same, but will say Kaspersky.
The Firewall page will look similar.

Windows Security panels will show the AV (Bitdefender or Kaspersky) this way because the AV is registered with the Security Center. So is MBAM by default, but changing a single setting after installing makes it so that WD continues to run as though there were no other AV running.
