    3TB Hard Disc not Detected after upgraded to version 2004


    Hi Team,


    Previous my system was on version 1909 windows and I upgraded to 2004 version. But after upgradation my 3TB hard disc isn't detected. Driver error was showing so I have to roll back to the previous version.

    Hi Team,

    Prev my system was on 1903 windows and I upgraded to 2004. But after upgradation my 3TB hard disc isn't detected. Driver error was showing so I have to role back to previous version

    I understand that after upgrading your computer to Windows 10, the 8TB internal hard drive is not getting detected. I’ll certainly help you with the issue.



    However, please let us know:



    • How did you upgrade the computer to Windows 10?
    • Are you able to see the hard drive in BIOS?
    • Are you using a Desktop or a Laptop?
    • What is the make and model of the computer you are using?


    I would suggest you to check if the hard drive is being detected in BIOS. If the hard drive is not being detected in BIOS, then it could be a connectivity issue between the hard drive and the motherboard.



    However, if the hard drive is getting detected in BIOS, I would suggest you to try updating the storage drivers from the computer manufacturer’s website and see if that helps.

    Hi Prem,

    We would like to know more information about this concern to assist you better.

    • Is the hard drive getting detected on the laptop?
    • Did you receive any error code or message?
    • Were you able to connect it before you upgrade the laptop to Windows 10 Anniversary Update?

    We also suggest that you follow the steps on how to run Hardware Troubleshooter on your laptop:

    • Press Windows key, type Troubleshooting in the search box and hit
      Enter.
    • Click Hardware and Sound.
    • Click Hardware and device and follow the on-screen instructions.
