Windows 10: 4.8 Framework error when connecting to RemoteApp application

Hello,This is my first time writing a question here. We have a domain that contains around 200+ computers that receive an error when running a remote application. The server this app is hosted on already has the 4.8 .NET Framework installed and the application runs on it fine. However, when we connect to it via RemoteApp, it says the computer we are on does not have the 4.8 Framework installed. Even though these already have it enabled and are on 21H2 and 22H2 mixed machines.We have tried installing the offline installer for the 4.8 Framework and it says it is already installed.Is there anyt

How to setup RemoteApp mode for some application in Windows 10 Professional

Hi all,

how to deal with RemoteApp mode in Windows 10 Professional? I tryied to follow

these instructions to setup application for RemoteApp mode under Windows 7 but without success. Problem is that there is no such entry

• HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows NT/CurrentVersion/Terminal Server/TSAppAllowList

in registry. When I add these entry by hand and follow next instructions, I cannot connect to remote application because window closed immediately after login. Normal remote desktop is working fine.

Can you suggest some resources or guide to setup and use RemoteApp mode in Windows 10 Professional?

Applications that are developed for the .NET Framework typically require that a specific version of the .NET Framework be installed on your system. In some cases, you may attempt to run an application without either an installed version or the expected
version of the .NET Framework present. This often produces an error dialog box like the one you are receiving.



I understand that you are receiving an error, ‘This application could not be started’. I’ll certainly help you with the issue.



However, in order get better clarity, please let us know:

• When exactly are you receiving this error?
  
• Are you aware of any changes made to the computer recently?
  
• Which build version of Windows 10 is installed on the computer?
  

I would suggest you to try repairing .NET Framework and check if that helps. Refer the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows Logo key + R, to open
   Run dialog box.
   
2. Type control appwiz.cpl,,2 and click on
   OK.
   
3. Clear the checkbox for .NET Framework (4.XX), click on
   OK and reboot your computer.
   
4. After restart, repeat step 1 & 2, select the checkbox for
   .NET Framework (4.XX), click on OK and reboot your computer.

Do let us know how exactly you have tried to perform repair of .Net Frame work on your computer.

Let us try the below troubleshooting steps and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to turn off, turn on the .Net framework and check if it helps.

• PressWindows + X keys from the keyboard, click on
  Programs and Features.
• Click on Turn Windows features on or off from the left pane.
• Uncheck the .Net framework feature, restart the computer.
• Follow the same as I & 2 check mark the feature, restart the computer and check with the status.

If the issue still persists,

Step 2: I suggest you to repair the framework using repair tool and check.
