Windows 10: 4 blue boot-up screens are full of holes

My windows 10 pro auto updated 2 days ago and when I boot up the past 2 morning the logon screen with the 4 little blue windows looks like they have been shot with a shotgun and it never boots up. I have to shut it down with start button and restart before the machine will boot-up completely. I was having this problem back when I first upgraded to 10 but forgot the process I had to go through to force a first time boot-up.

Driver locked up, I can't make it boot, is in a loop hole restarts and can't fix itself needs key recovery, blue screen reads system thread exeprion not handled, it wonr reboot keeps askinf for recovery key

 

Windows 10: Your PC ran into a problem (by Windows Defender)!

So this Windows 10 blue screen of death comes up everytime I let Windows Defender do a "full scan" (quick scan doesn't make it crash)!

1/4 way through of the scan blue screen pops up saying "Your PC ran into a problem" (every single time I do a full scan, this issue started recently btw). Then it goes into a boot mode telling me to select the correct boot drive: I have to use the power
button to turn off the computer and then start it back to correctly boot back to Windows. Any idea why this is happening and is there a way to fix it? Any info will be greatly appreciated!
