Windows 10: 4 sections in computer management, 5 sections in diskpart list partition.Why?

I have 1 ssd drive.disc 0. The Windows 10 operating system is installed. There are 4 departments in computer management. While disk 1 is selected at the diskpart command prompt, there are 5 partitions with the list partition command. Not in computer management. However, when I run the diskpart>select disk 0>list partition command, the size of the disk seen is:16 mb The dimensions of the other sections are compatible. Why is this so?

W7 Hard drive partition issue

to get rid of that 100 meg windows partition that setup creates for you on a new install on a blank hdd:

- press shift+f10 when on the partition management screen in setup <-- this opens a command prompt
- diskpart <-- start the windows command line partition management tool
- list disk <--- list the installed hdds in this computer for the next step
- select disk 0 <- might have to replace 0 with the number of the correct disk
- clean <-- this will erase all data on the disk you selected one step up- dont use the wrong disk!
- create partition primary <- creates a primary partition taking up all space on the drive, adjust the command if necessary
- exit, exit to exit diskpart and the command prompt
- click refresh in partition manager and select your newly created partition and install to that

 

Diskpart: Partition exists, but missing in 'list vol'

Trying to assign a letter drive to a partition to fix WinRE on my ASUS laptop.

Partition 4 is my RECOVERY partition.

• In EaseUS Partition Master, it is correctly called RECOVERY.
  
• In Windows Disk Management, it has no name.
  
• In diskpart, it is called OEM.
  

I cannot assign a drive letter to partition 4. Partition 4 does not show up under list vol.

Diskpart: Partition exists, but missing in 'list vol'

Hi there,

I don't know why the error "There is no volume specified. Please select a volume and try again" appears, but you can change the partition ID to basic data partition and assign a drive letter via Disk Management.

Run:

• diskpart
  
• sel disk # -- replace # with the actual disk number.
  
• sel part 4
  
• detail part
  
• set id=ebd0a0a2-b9e5-4433-87c0-68b6b72699c7
  
• gpt attributes=0x0000000000000000
  
• exit

See if you can assign the drive letter using Disk Management.

Note: After fixing WinRE, change the ID and attributes using these commands:

• diskpart
  
• sel disk # -- replace # with the actual disk number.
  
• sel part 4
  
• set id=de94bba4-06d1-4d40-a16a-bfd50179d6ac
  
• gpt attributes=0X8000000000000001
  
• exit
