    4K Cursor Lag

A while ago I've upgraded my Couch Gaming PC with an 4K TV and while it's generally working well I've started noticing what I'd call Cursor Lag and while it's not much it IS fairly noticeable kind of annoying the crap out of me so I've been wondering who the culprit might be.

System is, what I'd call, a last Gen High end System featuring a not quite Flagship X79 CPU ( can't remember model... ), 32GB of RAM and a 980Ti.

What bothers me the most is that this Cursor Lag keeps happening even on the Desktop with nothing else running thus making me question cause of it - Lowering the Resolution though appears to solve the issue *duh*

Is this a general Hardware issue involving the entire System or can this be attribute to a GPU only thing?

    Thanks in Advance =)

    :)

  2. Mouse scroll lag on some websites when using Continuum with Lumia 950

So I have the latest released insider build on my Lumia 950 (14376), and here is a full description of my setup:

    1. Dual SIM Lumia 950 (with only a single sim in it, and with 64gb microsd card, but that shouldn't really matter)

    2. Samsung 75" 4k display (paired with the phone), connected as a wireless display (at 1920x1080)

    3. Microsoft Bluetooth laptop mouse (paired with the phone)

    4. Microsoft foldable Bluetooth keyboard (paired with the phone)

No continuum dock at all, everything wireless, the phone can be on battery or plugged into power.

When the phone is using the Samsung monitor as a wireless display, there is **significant** cursor lag on the external display only. When the mouse is used on the internal phone screen, there is no lag.

The lag is also not restricted to using the mouse - if I use the continuum app on the phone as a touch pad, the lag on the external screen is also present. And the lag is **significant** - maybe around half a second before the cursor on screen responds
    to mouse or touch movement.

This problem has NOTHING to do with Edge or any other app. It seems to be a problem inherent in the operating system, as I can see the cursor lag on the start screen or on any app.

  3. Cursor lags when connected to a secondary monitor

I have an ASUS k501UX, with 12gb ram and GTX 950M. I'm connecting to a Vizio M43 Smart 4k TV via HDMI. My cursor lags really bad on the TV, but is fine on my computer. I have used both a wireless mouse and a my computer's pad.

I also connected to a Samsung Smart tv with screenshare, and found the same problem.

I am running the most updated version of Win 10.

    4K Cursor Lag

I do not know if we talking about the same thing, but I noticed a system wide Lag, most noticable while lauching a Programm. The Time it takes, between mouse click and it opens, is quite long, and I did have not seen it in other version than Windows 10. For example lauching Firefox, take ages until I can type something. That general Lag I think it W10 related. Well the system where I have w10 installed is quite poor, so I have to be carefull to say it is W10 but it could be my poor hardware.

@Durahl your system certainly should be able to cope with 4k. Have you installed the latest drivers?

@Adalwar your situation is different I suspect your lag is caused by old hardware. You don't have much ram either which would cause the pc to swap out its memory to the hard drive. Because its a old laptop, I suspect the hard drive is likely to run at 5400rpm so that would be another bottleneck. All these things together probably cause the lag. The lag certainly isn't Windows 10 related.

Three options I can think of: 1. Consider getting an SSD, 2. consider at least doubling your ram, 3. just accept the laptop is old and slow and start thinking about replacing it.

Well, RAM I have 1,1 GB free in System, that is not the problem.
I have a eMMC 32GB Drive and it is quite quick, so that is also not the Problem.
Maybe Processor is quite Slow, but I am not sure that it could cause that Lag.

    EDIT: Swapfile is 704MB.

  7. I think some kind of lag is normal for TVs.

This is why they usually have a 'game' mode which bypasses most or all of the picture processing. Try that!
