Windows 10: 4k monitor and pc

Hi . I recently bought a 4k monitor and a pc with gtx 550 ti . i7 3700 , an 12 gigs of rar . I have a question . I can see pixels on my monitor and the most i can set it its 1920x1080 . So how can i set it to 4k ? And also i have put 2 cards with 8 gigs ram and one of 4 gigs of ram , and the computer can only see 12 gigs of ram . Can comeone tell me how to fix this ?

Graphic card of the Laptop should be compatible with the 4k Monitor to play 4k Video

Does Miracast support 4K?

Hello,

We suggest that you check with the manufacturer of the 4k display device that you are using if it is certified to work with Miracast. If your display device is certified to work with Miracast, then check if your PC device supports Miracast. You may do so
by following the steps below:

• Click Start, then go to Settings >
  Projecting to this PC.
• Check if your device supports Miracast.

4K Monitor Loses 4K Option

Last night (11 Dec 2015) there was a Windows 10 update (I am running Windows 10 Pro). This morning my 4k monitor (ASUS PB287Q) was showing up as 1080p, and Settings does not recognize that this is a 4K monitor. The 4K resolution simply does not show up as
an option. Nor does the graphics card (NVIDIA GeForece GT 370) recognize that it is 4K.

Why would Microsoft mess with any of that? I find this really troubling. Do I reinstall a driver for the monitor? They don't have a driver specifically for Windows 10, just Windows 8.
