Windows 10: 5.1 Audio Recognized by Windows, but not using

This one is puzzling me. I recently reinstalled all of Windows onto a brand new SSD, but kept all of the original hardware.

I have sound that is pumped through a Asus Xonar DG sound card and it uses the Asus Xonar software. Before reinstalling Windows, everything worked like a charm and I had 5.1 surround sound. Now, I don't.

If I go to the sound profile on Windows, I can see that the speakers are set to 5.1 and running a sound test confirms that the rear left and right channels make noise. Yet, playing music or watching video (both Chrome and local) it refuses to use those rear speakers. It used to before the reinstall.

I am running the latest version of the Asus software and drivers. Thoughts?

Logitech Z506 5.1 Surround Sound System not working in Windows 10

If you look at the link that Microsoft provided you'll see that "no drivers" are needed to use the Logitech 5.1 Surround Sound Z506. You simply plug in the plugs into the computer, but the problem is Windows 10 Updates IDT High Definition Audio Codec, which
has issues running the "Beats audio control panel in the windows 10. Which doesn't recognize the rear speakers or center speakers. Hp forum says it's a Microsoft problem and the same is said by Logitech.

Now Microsoft I'm using an HP 700-019 which came with Windows 8 installed with Beats Audio, for 5.1 rear input speakers. I've tried installing Driver updates, changed devices setting, but to no avail in getting the 5.1 speakers to work, it only recognizes
the front left and right.

 

After upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7 ultimate I didn't get 5.1 audio and also my mother board CD also not opening.

After upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7 ultimate. In windows 7 my PC compactable 5.1 audio out put. But in windows 10 I didn't get
5.1 audio. I don't understand how can I solving my problem. And also my mother board CD also not opening. Please suggest me that jow can I get 5.1 audio.

 

Windows 10 - 1709 update, messed up my Xonar DG, had 1.81 and 1.80 (tried reinstalling 3-4 times)What worked was rolling aback to 1.75a-r3.Steps that worked for me.Uninstalling current drivers, Reboot, Installing UNi-Xonar-1822-v1.75a-r3.exe from UNi Xonar Drivers official page - MaxedTech , Reboot. Set Speakers to 5.1, turn on SPDIF out. Profit!!!I am weird in that I use the SPDIF out to a Yamaha Receiver for Left and Right signal but I used the Sub OUT from my DG to my Klipsch Promedia Sub. I am only using the .1 of the promedia.
