Windows 10: 5-min DIN to ps/2 is not working

Yes hey,I recently found my old DIN keyboard and decided I want to use it again. But when I got a 5-min to ps/2 adapter, specifically for keyboard, and plugged it in, it didn’t work. Rebooted, didn’t work. I didn’t even get power because none of the lights were working. I already tried bios and registery but they didn’t do anything. And I do know that the port works because my old mouse works just fine after plugging it in.So now, is it the adapter or the keyboard or something else? I think someone smart might know the problem. Kindly awaiting

PS/2 Mouse

Hello Igor,

I am aware that PS/2 doesn't allow hot plug. So that did not solve it.

I tried using it on my other desktop, but they didn't work on that desktop either. I tried to plug the mouses in the
6 pole Mini-DIN port using an adapter (An adapter like this one: https://www.reichelt.nl/ps-2-adapte...Y9dig5AIV2vZRCh0_yQIxEAkYBSABEgLTZfD_BwE&&r=1)
in that desktop. And using that port worked for both mouses. But the desktop i am using, doesn't have a 9-pole DIN port.

I turned fast boot off an rebooted my desktop. But didn't work.

I tried these 5 solutions that worked for others:

1. Right-click windows icon > device management > Mouses (Tryed to delete drivers that possible conflicted with the mouses and tryed to update the drivers.)

2. Windows + R > Typed in: Redistry editor > Navigated to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\i8042prt > 'Modify' on file called 'start' > changed the value from 3 to 1 > restarted my desktop

3. Using troubleshoot

4. Plugged the mouses into a PS/2 to USB converter > Plugged it into my desktop > Turned my desktop on (My desktop makes that sound (when you plug for example an usb stick in your desktop) if i log in.)

5. Tried to install Logitech software and drivers from the official site

I hope you can understand all this, because in my eyes this is a bit messy.

Help keyboard and mouse ps/2, serial and din ports are disable

Congratulations this is a great forum
I have old machines and several mouse and keyboards with sp/2 , din and serial port
And i like use them sometimes
But Lastest updates win7/8/10 (if you sometime input usb keyboard or mouse in past) disable serial, ps/2 and din ports, mouse and keyboard, into win7/8/10, INCLUDE on boot, do You know why?
I think is the generic driver of chipset and bios of windows for older hardware, that change something in ACPI,
Or
Some Autoexec.bat update change probally.
But i don't know!
I see on internet many people witn the same problem and they can't fix througth update or delete drivers
I think is something on dependency tree instalation drivers
Can You help?

Ok, let the powershell command run overnight
If the command didn't solve the problem, the try these steps in order:

1. Disable superfetch service
   • Empty the following folder c:\Windows\Prefetch\
   • Restart the computer
   • Si ça ne marche pas, passer à l'étape 2;
2. Disable the AppXSvc from the registry: change the "Start" key value from 3 to 4 (see the screenshot)
