512 Gb and 2Tb USB drives wont work on Win10

I have a lenovo Ideapad 300 with 3 USB 3.0 ports and I bought t USB drives that are 2.0. I read the 512 Gb should work, but that the 2Tb would take some tinkering with the GUID due to sectors problem of 33 not 32. Haven't tried to change yet ,but even the 512 will not work. When I plug the drives in they light up ,and I updated the 2.0 drivers like message at top of this site mentioned but still will not access the drives. When I click on the drive I get " Please insert a disk into drive F". Also, when I go to disk manager or other software like mini Tool partition wizard the drive doesn't show? It shows a F but very light in diskmanager, but nothing to the right where is should have size and data its is just blank.

    :)

Macrium Bootable Rescue USB - why 1 Gb drive recomended!!

After installing Reflect I made a Rescue Media USB, however the only spare size I had was 4 Gb, and seeing the file are less than 250 Mb considered this was a waste of a thumb drive, especially as I have three different systems that each will require their own Rescue Media.
I bought some 512 Mb drives, however Reflect informs me there is insufficient room on the drives, when using the help files I am informed to use 1 Gb drives, which I don't understand for 0.25 Gb of files. However I have transferred my files from the 4 Gb drive to the 512 Mb drive and they seem to work (well boots up OK), though I have kept my original on the 4 Gb drive.
    Questions:
    1. Why are Macrium recommending to to use 1 Gb drive.
    2. Why does Reflect tell me there isn't enough room on the drive, when there obviously is.
    3. Will my 512 Mb drive actually work.
    4. Can I put more than one set of Rescue Media on one USB drive, and if so how.
Many thanks to those of you who, and more so to those that provide answers.

No USB ports working on toshiba laptop

    Hi guys,

Got an old Toshiba laptop, satellite l500d pslk0a-00r009
Its old and doesn't officially support win10. However I have it installed and everything works fine except USB. All the ports seem completely dead, plugging in a USB mouse I get no light on the mouse. USB flash drives don't work either. This was previously working under win7.

The issue seems to be I don't have "Generic USB hub" in device manager. Have tried to manually install it using add legacy hardware but it wont take. I have several USB root hub and others listed, but not the generic hub.

Here's what I have tried so far:

Uninstall all USB device in device managers and reboot
    Confirmed BIOS is latest version
tried both legacy and compatibly USB mode in BIOS
Download and install generic win10 USB drivers
    Disable USB power saving mode
Installed toshiba's service center, no updates available
    Ran MS troubleshooter/fixit

I think the next step is to give up, but does anyone else have any suggestions?

    thanks

Upgrade Hard Drive from 128GB to 512 GB

    Hello. . .

I am operating a Dell Inspirion 7786 with a 64 bit Operating system, x64 based processor

I am attempting to upgrade from an 128GB (filled up SUPER fast) to a 512 GB hard drive. Computer has a separate 1T storage drive.

    I have learned that I have a PCIe x 4 connection.

The current drive is a PCIe Gen3 x 4 Solid State Drive
    CL1-3D128-Q11 NVMe Liteon 128GB
    Model # CL1-3D128-Q11

This a two “tab” SSD. . .I would like to upgrade to an OEM 512GB HD.

It is my understanding that I have an “M” key with a PCIe x 4

I am trying to find an OEM 512 GB drive and not having much luck. I have found what I believe to be an OEM replacement KBG40ZNS512G Toshiba hard drive, but they don't appear to be in production. . .

I am finding a combo B+M Key drive, but finding some conflicting information as to whether or not that drive will work.

Do you know where I can purchase an OEM 512GB drive. I can find 256GB all day long, but would prefer to jump to a 512 since my 128GB filled up so fast.

Thank you for you time. . .I know very little about the “workings” of the computer.
