Windows 10: 512GB SDXC card format when used to increase the internal storage of my Laptop?

Can someone talk me through whether I should format a 512GB SDXC card, purchased to increase the internal storage of my Laptop only, with FAT32, exFAT or NTFS format?

• Have you made any changes to your computer prior to this issue?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
• Which version and OS build number of Windows 10 is currently installed? To check, press the Windows key, type winver, and press the Enter key.
• What is the make and model of your device?
• Do you received any error messages?
• Have you tried using a different SDXC card, and check if you will be able to experience the same issue?
• Have you tried to copy/paste a file from your C: drive to your SDXC card?
• Have you tried inserting your SDXC card to a different device?
• What is the file system of your SDXC card?

Meanwhile, I would suggest that you try to reformat your SDXC card to a NTFS file system and check if it helps.

Windows 10 not recognising samsung 512gb sdxc evo plus

I've just recently brought a Samsung 512gb Evo Plus SDXC micro sd card and windows 10 won't recognise the card.

When I plug it in to my laptop I hear the sound of a device being connected, then a screen pops up saying 'you need to format the disk in f: drive' and when I click on format disk, the format window pops up but says the drive is only 7.9gb and when I click
on format it gives an error saying 'cannot access drive'.

If I click on cancel format drive it just says 'cannot access drive' again.

I've gone into device manager and the f: drive comes up under portable devices and when I click on it and try update drivers it doesn't find any.

Can anyone help?

As you are only able to use 32Gb card and your list are TWO reputable card provider, you will note this in the guide

If an SDXC memory card is inserted into a computer or device that does not support the SDXC standard, a message may prompt you to format the card.
Do not format the SDXC memory card in a non-compatible device because it will erase the data on the SDXC memory card and format the card for a different file system, making
it incompatible with SDXC devices.

The 1320 came out in 2013 4 years after SDXC, which as you note the 1320 should use without any problems.

Both cards would be formatted exFat already.
