Windows 10: 5G Wireless band no longer showing in my settings

Looking for some insight,


My computer has a Broadcom 802.11


I used to be able to connect to 5g networks. after multiple Windows 10 automatic updates i no longer can.


Ive tried driver updates, and changing settings in Device Manager as well as checking the config in command prompt.

My system shows the driver as dual band and shows that it supports it. i just cant get it working.

My 5g band could not be detected on Windows 10.

Since the upgrade, i can only connect to my 2.4g wifi band. My 5g band could not be detected.

Any suggestions to connect to the 5g band?

Dell Inspiron 14z

Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 2230

Driver version: 15.16.0.2

5G by opening the Control Panel, go to Device Manager and find the make and model of your laptop's Wi-Fi under the Network adapters section. After that, you want to find out if it supports your router. For many of these cases, the 5G availability depends on
the type of router and I would suggest seeing if it supports it and if it isn't then you would have to either change your router or buy the 5G wireless through an independent company. For your router to support 5GHz it must be a dual-band router.

Windows 10 5G nbn wifi not showing up
