Windows 10: 6 months later still can't customize Pictures or any folder properties on a SD card.

I wrote this 6 months ago but the thread has been locked since then. You can search for it with "Can't customize Pictures or any folder properties on a SD card""There is a bug in Windows 11. I can't change properties for any folder on an SD card. If I right click on a folder, go to properties, go to customize tab, optimize this folder for, no matter what I change it to, whether to music, videos, pictures, or documents and put a checkmark in apply this to all folders, then click apply or OK, it doesn't save these properties. If I open the folder, it goes into a general items view. It works fine

There is a bug in Windows 11. I can't change properties for any folder on an SD card. If I right click on a folder, go to properties, go to customize tab, optimize this folder for, no matter what I change it to, whether to music, videos, pictures, or documents and put a checkmark in apply this to all folders, then click apply or OK, it doesn't save these properties. If I open the folder, it goes into a general items view. It works fine for anything on the C drive but not on an SD card. Before you ask, I have the write-protect tab off, and I am able to write to the SD card just fine. This is a bug that has been there from day one. This is the 4th time I installed Windows 11 and I have always reverted back to WIn 10 because of this bug. When will this get fixed??

 

music/videos/pictures not getting saved in SD card

i have tried following things.

• Inserted the card in phone and formatted through 'Setttings'. Then clicked the picture.Pictures didnt show in camera roll. Checked SD card on PC and Android device, it was working fine.Pictres were there in Camera roll folder.
  
• Formatted the SD card through PC. Reinserted the SD card in phone. Tried same, but picture didnt get saved.Checked SD card on PC, there were folders created by windows phone say Pictures, Music etc. .Pictres were there in Camera roll folder.
• Formatted the SD card through PC with exFAT format and repeated the step 2.
• Formatted the SD card through PC , Inserted it in phone so that the folder could be created.This time i Reinserted the card in PC and transferred the music in 'Music' folder.Reinserted it into phone,checked in phone Settings>System>Phone Storage>SD card
  , here 'Music' says 0 bytes and 'other' says 5 MB as the song was of 5 MB.
• Formatted the SD card through PC with FAT32 format and repeated the step 4.

Every time i checked the card on android device , it worked fine with android.Even now the SD card is working fine with PC and android device.I have formatted it about 50 times till now but no result.

I would suggest you to follow the below mentioned steps to upload the pictures in Windows 10 operating system:

If your media reader has several slots there will be several 'Removable Disks' listed. The SD card will be one of them

Click the correct drive letter, from the menu choose “Explore or Open”, now you would be able to see the directory of the memory card.

Now you would be able to drag/drop or copy/paste the files to a folder on your hard drive.

I put my sd card in then clicked on windows live photo gallery then click File, and then click on import photos and videos. I have windows live photo gallery on my desk top but it may be listed as a default as well.

Right click on Windows icon at lower left. Click on Control Panel, then Autoplay. Under Memory card, set default to Imports Pictures and Videos
