    My bad if this is the wrong subreddit for this.

    I am so confused as to why I can only use 1/3 of my RAM

    I have 12GB DDR3 RAM installed, and have checked all 6 slots for functionality. I have tried the memory diagnostics tool to find no errors. I then tried disabling maximum memory in msconfig; no change. I tried going into the bios to find that the maximum storage for ram was 4088MB. I tried to look at the DRAM settings in the chipset tab to find only 2 options:Intel VT-d and Northbridge config which are both seemingly dead ends.... Thanks for the help in advance, or even reading if you got this far.

    upgrade to 4GB RAM and want to switch to 64 bit version

    I"ve upgraded my ram from 2GB to 4GB, system said "3.5GB usable". Can I free upgrade my win10 pro 32 bit to 64 bit?

    upgrade to 4GB RAM and want to switch to 64 bit version

    You do not install 64 bits unless you have more than 4gb of ram. 3.5 is the max you can utilize with either 32 -64 version. Your cpu must be capable of 64 bits too. Your cpu sounds like it is not capable.
