Windows 10: 6GB of RAM installed but only 4.96 usable

I installed windows 10 Home 64 bit.
I have an Acer laptop and I checked the BIOS for any memory options and there's nothing there.

The BIOS itself, gives me 6144MB of RAM, so I'm guessing everything is fine.
I checked that the max memory tab in MSCONFIG is unchecked.

I dont know what to do. I know that Windows doesnt use the whole 6GB but I believe it should be something like 5.XX gb in use.

Some of the RAM might be allocated to graphics if your using integrated graphics.

You should be able to adjust how much is assigned from within the BIOS of the computer.

If your system is using a dedicated video card.

If it does...

press Windows key + R

Type: msconfig

Hit Enter

Go to the Boot tab > Advanced options > make sure Maximum memory is unchecked

Click OK then click Apply then OK

 

Some of it is dedicated to your graphics, it`s called Hardware Reserved, there is nothing wrong, don`t worry about it.

If you want you can open Task Manager, Performance, Resource Monitor, then click the Memory tab and it will have a bar graph explaining everything.

Same issue here on an older Dell Dimension, Win 10 Pro 64-bit, with only 3Gb of 4Gb usable. This machine has a 2Gb add-in video card, so doesn't really need any system memory dedicated to the video. Same reason still?
