Windows 10: 7.488: EFS service failed to provision a user for EDP. Error code: 0x80070005.

So I've been getting this error, also in conjunction with two windows error reporting info eventlogs. These are the two logs

Event Name: WinSetupDiag02

Response: Not available

Cab Id: 0

I know it's an access denied error, but I'm not sure where to start with fixing it.

Event 4401: EFS service failed to provision a user for EDP

I also have this error in the event viewer:
EFS service failed to provision a user for EDP. Error code: 0x80070005

Hopefully MS or some one will come up with a solution.

 

Event 4401: EFS service failed to provision a user for EDP

All of the sudden, my screen on my build xxx system went black, I could not interact with the system any more. Had to do a hard power off.

After restarting the system I found that "EFS service failed to provision a user for EDP" (Error code: 0x80070005) was the last event. According to the Event Log time, it had happened right when the system froze.

Btw: As far as I know, I do not have any encrypted folders or files on the system.

Did anyone else experience a system crash caused by or following this error?

Yesterday, my Event Log reports an error I have never seen before:

7.488: EFS service failed to provision a user for EDP. Error code: 0x80070005.

Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, version: 1607 OS Build 14393.51 (Anniversary update)

My questions are:

• What does this error mean?
• Does it require fixing if so how?
• Is this error related to my fix I applied to remove the numerous CAPI2 Event 513 errors in the Event Log?
