    7-8s of black screen before the lock screen appears - Windows 10 Pro 22H2 OS Build 19045.3636


    I have been facing this issue for the last 2-3 days. It used to take 2-3s to go to the lock screen. But now, it's showing a 7-8s-long black screen before it goes to the lock screen and lets me enter the PIN to log into Windows. I changed nothing regarding the start-up applications or services. I did not install any new software. Also, I didn't update my drivers. Specs:CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8 GB 3000 Mhz × 2Mobo: Gigabyte B450-DS3HGPU: Gigabyte 1050Ti 4GB OC EditionSSD: WD Blue SN750 500GBHere's a list of start-up applications for your reference.

    Mine doesn't appear in the start menu. The program is located in the System32 folder.

    Windows 7 black screen of death

    I read a report a little while ago that said the black screens were nothing to do with updates but due to a malicious program (it hit more than just windows 7 users - vista, xp and 2000 were also prone to the black startup screen of death if infected). My windows 7 install is fully up-to-date and i've never had the black startup screen.

    Just run some decent anti virus and you should be safe (i suggest microsoft security essentails since it's free and pretty decent). When you've installed an anti-virus i'd suggest doing a full scen to be sure there's nothing there.
