Got a message that my graphics card was not compatible with 10 so I installed an ASUS 210 Silent, forced a 10 download again and still get the same message with the old card. 10 upgrade doesn't check for the new card, just reports the old card is not compatible. How do I get it to check hardware again?

    :)

Cannot Upgrade from Win 7 to Win 10 because of Incompatible Display even when replaced with new graphics card

In an attempt to fix an incompatible display (integrated Nvidia GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 on a HP Pavilion a6200n, AMD Athlon duel core) preventing a Windows 10 upgrade and since there is no driver update, I installed a new graphics card Nvidia GeForce GT
730 into a PCI-e slot. The incompatible display was disabled and only the new GT 730 is displayed in the Device Manager.

Why do I still show the incompatible and disabled display in the Get Windows 10 upgrade instead of the newly installed graphics card?

  3. Replaced graphics card for W10 compatibility, but installer says the old one is still there

I am trying to do a Windows 10 upgrade; the PC in question is running Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit. It originally had an nVidia GEForce 7800 graphics card. The Windows 10 installer flagged this as an incompatibility, because Windows 10 drivers are not available.

I replaced the graphics card with a GEForce GT 610, which supports Windows 10 and DX12. I downloaded and installed the latest drivers from the manufacturer's web site. The machine has been restarted multiple times since.

The Windows 10 installer still says I have an incompatibility issue because of the GEForce 7800 card, even though it has been removed. Device Manager agrees that I have a GEForce GT 610.

How do I get the installer to recognize the actual graphics card that I have installed?

    Thanks for any help,

Try turning off the on-board graphics in the BIOS and make sure that your driver has properly loaded for your new video card.

The only options for changing onboard devices are the ports: serial and parallel.

Try disabling it in Device Manger, right click and Disable.

Change the order of the video device to match the new card location as the first choice (PCI Express presumably?)
See your manual page 2-9 "South Bridge Configuration"

OK, I looked in device manager and discovered the driver encountered and error and did not install. Had it try again and it failed again (error code 28). So I guess I'm off to the ASUS/NVIDIA website to attempt to figure this out.

So, I found an older driver 3/2011 at ASUS and it installed. Should I try another forced 10 download? It seems to me that there must be a file associated with 10 upgrade that's not getting updated with the new video card info. Make sense to anyone?

    Load the GeForce Driver
    Drivers | GeForce

    GeForce/GeForce 200Series/GeForce210

The good news is they have a Windows 10 driver
Download the win7 driver and install that and also download the win10 driver so you can install that after your 10 upgrade is complete.

Don't know what you mean by "forced 10 download".

You may be able to do the upgrade by using one of the methods from the Media Creation Tool:

    Windows 10

You'll probably get the Microsoft Basic display drivers. nVidia (Visual Computing Leadership from NVIDIA) offers the 341.74 drivers for your oldish graphics card under Windows 10.
