    A semi-random suggestion: download and run memtest86+ from a CD or USB key drive.

    Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

    If the RAM passes that test, that should eliminate any bad RAM or compatibility issues.

    Did you do a bios reset after changing the RAM ?
    I always do a bios reset after making a hardware change.

    Check in the BIOS if there is a setting for memory called "memory hole remapping" or "memory remapping" or something similar. If that is not enabled hardware reserved addresses will take away from your RAM (it remaps the RAM address space used by the hardware memory map i/o region to a higher address range).
