  1. 8gb 2x 4gb kit even in bios it reads 4gb 2gb each stick but its 8gb in cpuz or task manager...

My mother board is gigabyte G41MT-SP2T rev1.1

but in bios it reads 2gb each from stick

in Cpu-z or Task Manager it says 8gb total 4gb hardware reserved

and cpu-z says each stick 4gb

heard about all timing things on ram but didnt get the good or useable ones :C if anyone can help with that

my mother board support 8gb max and in task manager it says 2slots of 4 used but the motherboard have 2 slots ._.

    4gb vs 8gb

absolutely not. I bought an 8gb kit back in December, and I just sold 4gb of that 8gb here on tpu because I will never use the full 8gb, hell I won't even use the full 4gb but the next step down is one 2gb stick... single channel... no way I'm doing that heh

going to 8gb will only help if you have a million processes running, or if you have extremely memory intensive programs such as autocad

  3. Can I upgrade to 8GB (4gb * 2) Ram?

My Motherboard is - Gigabyte H55M-D2H,
    Processor - Intel Cor i3 (2.93Ghz)
Using Windows 10 pro 64 bit.
    My current ram is 4GB ddr3 1333mhz (2gb * 2).
    Will my system support 8GB ddr3 1333mhz (4gb * 2) ram?

8gb 2x 4gb kit even in bios it reads 4gb 2gb each stick but its 8gb in cpuz or task manager...

    Have 4gb (2+2gb) - should I go 8gb or 12gb?

I've got 4gb of G-Skill DDR3 1600mhz in 2 sticks of 2gb. Would it be a better idea to go with 2 more sticks of 2gb and get a total of 8gb or would it be fine to stick in 2 4gb sticks and make 12gb? I've never mixed sticks and I know it will take it but I didn't know if there was any unspoken penalty or if it was a no-no to mix 4 gig sticks with 2 gig sticks etc.

I doubt I'll ever notice the difference between 8gb and 12gb since I don't really fully utilize my 4gb as-is. Suggestions?
