    8tb hdd issue with initializing


    So tried initializing the HDD but an error pops up saying “theres an I/O device error.” Tried everything i could, went to youtube for answers, asked a buddy etc and nothing still. Its a brand new HDD and also i have windows 10. Tried updating it but its already up to date...im lost now

    It is possible that your
    HDD was unreadable
    causing the error message to appear. We recommend that you perform these troubleshooting steps and check if there are any changes:


    • Shutdown
      your
      PC.

    • Unhooked
      the
      HDD
      and
      turn on
      your
      PC.

    • Reconnect
      your
      HDD
      and
      restart
      your
      PC.

    If the issue persists, we suggest that you contact your
    laptop/computer's manufacturer
    for further assistance.

    Update us on how it goes.

    I wonder which 8TB drive are they using, maybe Seagate's 8TB Archive HDD.
