    8TB internal hard drive not found on my computer.


    I recently purchased and installed an 8TB internal hard drive. I looked up if I needed to activate the hard drive, then when I went to Disk Management, it doesn't look like it found the hard drive. I've connected the cable needed, but nothing. Did I do something wrong? Or is the hard drive too big to register?

    I understand that after upgrading your computer to Windows 10, the 8TB internal hard drive is not getting detected. I’ll certainly help you with the issue.



    However, please let us know:



    • How did you upgrade the computer to Windows 10?
    • Are you able to see the hard drive in BIOS?
    • Are you using a Desktop or a Laptop?
    • What is the make and model of the computer you are using?


    I would suggest you to check if the hard drive is being detected in BIOS. If the hard drive is not being detected in BIOS, then it could be a connectivity issue between the hard drive and the motherboard.



    However, if the hard drive is getting detected in BIOS, I would suggest you to try updating the storage drivers from the computer manufacturer’s website and see if that helps.

    Internal hard drive not getting detected after upgrading the computer to Windows 10

    Just "upgraded" (and that term hardly fits) to Win 10 from 7, and now my computer does not recognize an 8TB internally mounted hard drive. What's the fix? Tried MiniTool partition wizard free version, and it can't even find the drive. Thanks again for all
    you do to make life easy, Microsoft... Not!

    Problem found and solved. So now that the problem has been solved, I'm trying to delete this post and get on with life, but MS won't let me delete it even though that is a choice that MS offers... any suggestions for that?

    Error Code 0x81000019 When Trying to Back Up 8TB Hard Drive to Another 8TB Hard Drive

    So I just made a new computer, with two 8tb hard drives. I wanted to put them in Raid 0, but I decided to just do daily backups to the second hard drive. Right now, I am only using about 60GB on the first drive. However, when I try to do a backup it will
    get to 7% and then freeze.
