Windows 10: 980mb Reserved Memory out of 4GB Ram, Windows 10.

I am Using Windows 10 right now, and Only 3.01 GB Ram is Usable out of 4gb ram. It was like 3.7 GB usable Ram before. I even tried reinstalling Windows 10 64 bit. Didn't work. Please Tell me a Fix, its been a month and its really limiting my productivity. Already Unchecked Maximum Memory from msconfig.

Windows 10 using 4GB reserved RAM

well I think its starting to look like a board issue. I took the RAM out and put it in another board I have and the bios detected 8Gb memory , I then put 1 stick only back onto the board in question and it showed 4GB installed threw windows with no reserve.
putting both RAM back in however creates the 4GB in hardware reserve. is it possible that somehow windows is seeing RAM that according to the Bios isn't even there? anyway I guess I have to decide whether I should rebuild the machine with the i5 processor
or leave as is and maybe upgrade to 16GB ram wich im sure will give me 8Gb hardware locked =/

 

Windows shows 8GB RAM installed but 4GB RAM is usable

Hi There,

I've just upgraded my pc from 4GB RAM to 8GB RAM. Windows seems to have detected this upgrade but why does it show as only 4GB RAM available. The following is what I have tried so far with no luck:

• I have tried the msconfig method on ensuring maximum memory is not checked.
• physically removed the new RAM and reinstalled it

Any thoughts/suggestions on how i can resolve this matter?

Still no reply. Having the same issue. 8gb installed windows hardware reserved 4gb so I only have 4gb that i can use. installed 16gb or ram. windows has now hardware reserved 8gb of ram. Regardless of slots used. 3 different types of memory in as many
configurations as possible. all returning the same result. What the **** is going on. this has randomly happened on a healthy working install of windows 10. Have since done a fresh install with the same thing still happening....
