what do i need,, anybody comeup against this before
there are a bunch of exe files on the install cd but a couple of them are asking for directx files so i click on the old directx install folder on the game cd {a-10) and it does not offer an install option
where do i get old DX install files this is a windows 95 game

Will dosbox 0.74 work on windows 10 home. old dos games im wanting to play are duke nukem, wolfenstein, doom.

 

Booklet 3G: 3D graphics

Update 1: I've surprisingly managed to have my Half-Life1 working just fine (Software mode) on Intel's drivers. It's a quite old, but nice game to play in train, when I travel, even while in "Energy saving" mode.



Update 2: In order to try to get 3D graphics work some more properly on Intel's drivers, I've tried
Mesa 3D graphics libraries (custom made "glide2x.ovl" and the rest of glide DLLs), but haven't got any noticeable effect. The games I wanted to play are still not functional because of the damned Intel's
GMA500 drivers. The only thing changed for me - is that D2XL is now not crashing in the menu. It is crashing when trying to render a new game, right after "Prepare for Descent" appears

Anyone who wants to try it - you can find and download the binaries (or compile the most fresh sources by yourself), replace on original DLLs and try some 3D graphics, maybe some games will become playable for you.



Update 3: A workaround exist to get most of old favorite games to play on Booklet - it's a
DOSBox. I brought up Windows 95 on top of DOSBox (this is not officially supported by DOSBox team, so - it's pretty unstable move) and now am able to play lots of DOS and Windows 95 games. I have Red Alert
(DOS and W95), Blood, Descent (1 and 2), Carmageddon, Quake 3 Arena working just fine on DOSBox.

I can note, that Booklets battery saving mode reduces processing power, so emulation becomes much slower.

 

It appears you have a computer running the 64-bit version of Win10, those games from Win95 could be 16-bit or 32-bit, Win10 seldom does 16-bit.

Which version of DirectX is needed? Mine shows it has DirectX 12 support but also lists 10 and 9.1.

 

looks like dx6 because of this file name
DSETUP6.1.dll

 

is there a windows dosbox *Smile hehehe
or is virtual machine the only option
