    a while back, My mouse was freezing often. So i was told to change something in registry editor. and after that when i restarted my pc it took 2-3 minutes to restart, and its been doing it ever since. 3 minute startups, 3 minute shutdowns, 3 minute restarts. And now i cannot find what i changed to give me this issue....

    Search in Registry Editor (REGEDIT) slows the PC to where it almost stops

    You are right, searching the registry should not slow down your system for other work. But the built in search in Win registry editor is really slow.

    I've found that NirSoft Regscanner tool is much better, much faster than MS search:

    I've used various nirsoft tools for many year and do trust them.
