  1. A cheap USB 3 not showing up consistently (twochi external HD 40GB) but does on linux\booting

I manage to show the drive once and use Ventoy on it - but it doesn't show the external drive, even when windows 10 registers there's a USB 3.0 connected. Any ideas?

(manage to show it up on windows once and used Ventoy to put a few linux ISOs on it. Now can boot from these constantly using another computer- but would lie to delete and leave one iso \reformat the drive).

  2. External HD Connection Problem

I have attached an external HD to my computer running Windows 10 and it will not show up in my drive list. The properties shows it as Seagate.ink - what is an ink file and any suggestions as to how I can get it to work?

Unable to delete a folder - Invalid folder name

    Suggestion:
    1. Run chkdsk x: /r to make sure that there's no HD corruption.
x: is the drive containing the folder you want to delete.
    2. Try to delete the folder again. If still does not work, go to step 3.
    3. Download: Download - Linux Mint and create a bootable USB using: Rufus - Create bootable USB
    4. Boot up with Linux Mint and try to delete the folder again.
NOTE: Unlike WinPE. Linux does not have any Windows permission imposed to it so it is easier to delete.

in Windows 10 Drivers and Hardware
HD size (removed from USB external) shows badly wrong: I removed a 3TB Seagate HD from its external box as I wanted to use it internally. Have done this 3 or 4 trimes before with no problems (yeah, warranty, sure...); this was sort of surplus to requirements. However, on installing internally, it is now no longer 3TB, but...

RAID-3 on the cheap -- is it possible?: ----- What is RAID-3 on the cheap? ----- RAID-3 on the cheap is a 2-drive RAID-0, plus a smaller, 3rd drive. The 2-drive RAID-0 is standard, not anything special. The 3rd drive is a dedicated parity drive. It's the 3rd drive that makes it a RAID-3. But it's not an ordinary...

Beware of some cheap USB 3 (not USB 2) thumdrives: Yep, many cheap USB3.0 sticks are just marketing. In the end they have nothing to do with USB3.0 in any way. Speed is horrible, and compatibility even worse. *Smile
