Windows 10: A device I do not recognize is continually connecting to my microsoft account

A device I do not recognize continually connects to my Microsoft account under devices. I have done all the recommended things, and now use an authenticator to log on. I remove the device and within hours it is back on the account - with location unknown. The account was hacked, and I am trying to get it closed, but have lots of email address to straighten out. I spent over an hour with a Microsoft windows chat person with NO resolution. Makes you think Microsoft has some serious security issues.

I get different reactions every time I try to delete a device, but the result is that I cannot remove the devices.
I'll go back to local accounts and delete the Microsoft account.
I changed to Microsoft account because I wanted to use the Continue on PC feature. This feature doesn't work so I think that I'll just forget about it.

Laptop doesn't recognize connected android device.

We appreciate your effort on this. We understand that when you connect your Android device to the computer it is not recognized, we will look into this for you.



As per the description, the Android device only charges when you connect it to the computer. Hence, we would like to know if you see any Unknown device in Device Manager. Refer the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows key + X, and select
   Device Manager.
   
2. In Device Manager window, check if there is a section of
   Unknown device.
   
3. If you see Unknown device, right click on it and select
   Update Device.
   
4. If prompted, restart the computer.
   

I would also suggest you to follow the steps from the article Error:
“USB Device not recognized” when you try to access a USB external hard drive except Method 2 and see if that makes any difference.

Hello Flemmingk,

Could these other devices be from friends that you may have signed in to your Microsoft account on for something?

Either way, you can remove these devices.

Afterwards to be safe, I would recommend to change the password of your Microsoft account, and enable two-step verification if you haven't already.
