Windows 10: A driver cannot load on this device. Driver aksfridge.sys

I have just reset my laptop a few days ago and this error appeared oly recently. I have looked at some infomation on how to fix this but i cant load the windows security so i cant get the core isolation settings. I am so confused on what i should do now.I have tried to upload a screenshot of both the drive error and a screenshot of the windows security screen once its been open for a minute.The drive error saysrogram Compatibility AssistantA driver cannot load on this deviceDriver: aksfridge.sysaksfridge.sysA security setting is preventing this driver from loading. Laptop driver/reformat question

This is excellent advice. Writing down the list of installed devices prior to re-formatting will save you a lot of heartache. With that list, you won't have to try to figure out exactly which wireless card or web cam driver you need since there will likely be several to choose from.

 

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device

To assist you better please provide few details.

1. Have you installed the Windows 10 update successfully?

I would suggest you to remove all the external devices and check if the issue persists.

1) If you are getting this message even if there are no other external devices plugged in then you may follow these steps:

From Device Manager Update all device drivers and restart the system to check if that helps.

1. Press
Windows key + R key from the Desktop.

2.Type devmgmt.msc and hit
Enter.

3. Select the driver from the list.

4. Right click on the driver and click on
Update driver Software.

You may also install any pending updates on the pc to keep the system up to date.

2) You may update the motherboard chipset drivers and check if that helps. You will get the latest drivers from the OEM website.

a. Press Windows and X keys together

b. Click on Device Manager.

c. Select Processors from the list.

d. Right click on the driver and click on Update driver Software.

What is semav6msr64.sys & Mellanox Drivers?


I noticed semav6msr64.sys on my system earlier today (also via Autoruns), and eventually tracked down the program which installed it - you heard it here first! It's an Intel file, and just coincidence that SEMA Software authored a driver file with the same name.

On my system the driver was installed by the Intel Driver Update Utility Installer, which I'd installed to update my Intel drivers. Uninstalling this program after use doesn't uninstall semav6msr64.sys, presumably due either to a bug in the uninstaller or to laziness of the development team who wrote it. I don't like leaving software package remnants on my system for no good reason, so removed it as follows:

1. Create a System Restore Point in case the following steps cause any problems.
2. Uninstall Intel Driver Update Utility Installer, if it appears in the installed programs list in Control Panel.
3. Rename semav6msr64.sys to semav6msr64.sys.bk [to be deleted sometime later if no problems are encountered].
4. If, and only if, you're comfortable editing the registry, delete the following keys (otherwise just leave them, they'll have negligible effect):

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_SEMAV6MSR64
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\semav6msr64
