A glossy display monitor w/ GTX 1080Ti Graphics Card?

    Hi!

I've been trying to track down a 24" glossy display for my computer (with 120hz refresh rate). Budget is around $400. Any recommendations? I really appreciate it!

Display Adapter Properties will not open when clicking under Control Panel>Display>Advanced Display Settings> Display adapter properties

Hello Ian, thank you for the assistance.

The monitor I am using is:

    AOC 2460G4

    My graphics card is:

    NVIDIA GTX 970M

It is currently connected via HDMI 2.0.

    Troubleshooting:

I have tried fresh installing all graphics card and monitor drivers.

The monitor runs perfectly fine at 60Hz but I cannot access the display adapter setting in the system menu, I can only check the resolution/refresh rate in the NVIDIA control panel.

I have been using the monitor as my main monitor.

My graphics card has a mini displayport, I'll have a cable tomorrow that I can test with instead of the multiple different HDMI cables I've tried.

Here's what I've found so far. If I am just using my laptop as the monitor, I can access the "display adapter properties" information just fine. If I switch over to using the AOC as my main monitor, I am no longer able to access the "display adapter properties"
in the display settings. I'm also unable to see the "Display properties" in the right-click menu when I right click my desktop. It seems that, when I'm using my laptop monitor as my primary monitor, the adapter is "HD Graphics 530", and when using the AOC
as my main monitor my display adapter (thought I can't open the window through any settings menu) is the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M.

I hope this helps, let me know if there is any additional information I can provide. Thank you again!

  3. Windows 10 taskbar constantly freezing up for months after numerous troubleshooting steps. CTRL ALT DEL and then hitting cancel will fix temporarily. Please help!!

This sounds like an issue with your graphics adapter:

    GTX 1080ti

To isolate the problem, you could try switching to onboard graphics to isolate the problem - if your motherboard supports.

uninstall your display driver then restart

Boot to the Windows 10 desktop

    Press Windows key + X

    Click Device Manager

    Expand Display adapters

Right click the current display adapter

    Click Uninstall

    Exit Device Manager

    Restart

Update the display driver to the latest:

You should also check the connection to your display monitor. Adjust the screen resolution, scale and layout to recommended in - Start > Settings > System > Display.

If the problem persists, make sure your chipset driver for the motherboard, your BIOS all updated.
