Windows 10: A phone that I do not recognize is trying to connect with my laptop device.

Hello everyone, today I got some unwanted attention. A phone called the Tecno Spark 8i keeps trying to pair with my laptop for the past hour. I am worried that a hacker is trying to steal information on my laptop. I am not sure if this will help. But for the past few days, I have been using Mega to download some files off some people. After I finished downloading all the files I wanted, I started getting these pop-ups of a device trying to pair with my device.

Laptop doesn't recognize connected android device.

We appreciate your effort on this. We understand that when you connect your Android device to the computer it is not recognized, we will look into this for you.



As per the description, the Android device only charges when you connect it to the computer. Hence, we would like to know if you see any Unknown device in Device Manager. Refer the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows key + X, and select
   Device Manager.
   
2. In Device Manager window, check if there is a section of
   Unknown device.
   
3. If you see Unknown device, right click on it and select
   Update Device.
   
4. If prompted, restart the computer.
   

I would also suggest you to follow the steps from the article Error:
“USB Device not recognized” when you try to access a USB external hard drive except Method 2 and see if that makes any difference.

Phone not getting recognized in laptop

I bought this laptop in July, 2016 with pre-installed windows 10. This problem has been there since then. Laptop doesn't recognize ANY android device. I have tried many of my friends phones, none of which gets recognized. Even though the phone is in MTP
mode, all it does is get charged.

I have tried these:

• Restarting the Laptop.
• Trying with different cables and ports..
• Trying different phones.
• Troubleshooting hardware and devices without my phone connected. (It could not identify the problem)
• Troubleshooting with my phone connected :
  • It gave a fix: The driver for unknown device is not installed. Install the latest driver. I clicked apply this fix.
  • The result - Unknown device doesn't have a driver - with a red cross.
• Then i went to device manager and there was a Unknown device under Other devices.
  
• I right clicked it and selected update latest drivers and selected the automatic search option.
  
• After it completed it simply said :
  • Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device.
  • Windows found the driver but encountered error installing it.
  • Below that was written "MTP device". A service installation section in this INF is invalid.

Now i don't know what else to do. Can someone help me please. If i have to manually install a driver, where can i find it for my laptop.

 

Some USB Devices not recognized in Windows 10

Hi have Windows 10 Pro insider preview 10532 64bit Pro Intel i7 desktop PC.

I have multiple USB devices connected, USB 3 & 2. The USB HDD is working however my Samsung phone and kindle are no longer being recognized. The steps followed so far:

• Uninstalled all USB devices in device manager including controllers
• Flashed BIOS to latest version
• Updated USB drivers for the devices from manufacturers sites
• Tried new USB cables

Please note: both devices are recognized by my Windows 10 Lenovo laptop.

I really don't want to fresh install, please suggest any diagnostics I can try.
