Windows 10: a problem where my mouse stops tracking whenever i scroll it

how do i fix a problem where my mouse stops tracking whenever i scroll, i took it apart trying to fix the problem but nothing worked. its also very annoying because i play video games o here that use the scroll and a button to do something.

hi everyone

sometimes when I scroll down with my mouse it stops scrolling, if I press esc. button or the down arrow it starts to scroll.
I am using an external mouse, but it happens with the mouse on the keyboard and if I try with another mouse
it does the same thing.

Can anyone help with this problem

New event. When placing cursor over a list or row of columns, even the volume bar scrolling is automatic and proceeds to one end of the series and stops. The scrolling also stops when I move the cursor away from the list but am unable to select anything in the list. Not all the possible lists are effected. Other sites have recommended mouse/kb fixes. Have tried all those but the phenomena persists. Have not had any known updates recently and don't have a restore point to try. Any other suggestions? W10Pro 1903

• If it does not, then it is the browser's fault. Contact the browser support team(Google for chrome, etc)

Check if this problem persists with another mouse.

• If it does not, then it's the mouse's fault. The mouse is probably defective. Either get it repaired or stop using it. If it's the built-in scroll pad on a laptop, contact your manufacturer.

If the problem still occurs, then it's Windows's fault. Make sure you do not click the center scroll button when scrolling. Make sure no keys are being pressed down when scrolling. Make sure the mouse shows a pointer icon when scrolling. If the problem persists,
reinstall the drivers.

Open "devices manager" through Start and the search bar.

Open "Mice and other Pointing devices"

Update the drivers.
