    A problem with the Windows 11 23H2 update.


    I have a problem with the Windows 11 23H2. The download and install went fine as it was completed. However during upgrading to Windows 11, the screen gets stuck at 48%. I left it for 1 hour and the screen is still stuck, it was connected to the charger. So I shut down my laptop and it went back to Windows 10 22H2. I need to know what to do in order for my screen NOT to get stuck and get the update done.

    Cannot install Windows 11 23H2

    The build number 22631.2506 implies the device has been upgraded to 23H2 already.

    Here are the version/build numbers for Windows 11.

    • 22000.xxx is 21H2
    • 22621.xxx is 22H2
    • 22631.xxx is 23H2
    Your system is fully up-to-date. What else you're looking for?

    Windows 11 23H2 upgrade broke File Explorer, it will not run

    Good news!

    Problem seems to be fixed by 2023-11 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5032190) update released 11/14 that I installed on 11/15. In the Knowledge Base notes is the following under File Explorer:

    • This update addresses an issue that stops File Explorer from opening.
    It worked for me, no longer have any problems, no need to re-install (somehow I couldn't roll back 23H2 update and had no recovery point before that time).
