Windows 10: A Question about OEM Product Keys.

Hello guys,I know that this might be a stupid question, but I'm going to ask it anyway.I am wondering about OEM Keys, hence the title of this thread. I am considering switching to blendOS, or Ubuntu. Linux Distros because I have fricked up my Windows 10 installation in mid-2020, and it's been sitting in the corner ever since.My question though, is if I install Linux on the C:\ Drive, and then possibly switch back to Windows 10, will my OEM key still be available to use?Thank you.

I don't think so - I tried to sell a stack of OEM discs with no keys and MS threw a fit, so eBay deleted my listing. Try craigslist instead.

 

I have a question about OEM product key and Windows 10

Hi I just want to ask a follow up question the product key I have for Windows 7 Pro SP1 32 bit is a OEM product key and my Windows 10 is retail meaning I downloaded it off the microsoft website. As far as I know I don't believe you can use a OEM product
key to activate a retail version of Windows. And I am not going to buy a retail version of Windows 7 Pro SP1 32 bit just keep that mind. So far I have a Windows 7 Pro SP1 32 bit OEM disc with a product key only for OEM and my current operating system that
is Windows 10 Pro 32 bit HOWEVER IT IS NOT OEM IT IS A RETAIL COPY.

"Flavors" of Windows licenses

Windows can be a little "odd" about license keys. There are at least 4 categories:

• Retail
• OEM
• Volume (electronic download)
• Corporate (no key needed)

For guaranteed success, the license key and media should be in the same category. If you have retail media, you may not be able to install it using an OEM or Volume license key, even though the key is valid for that version of Windows. *Wtf :wtf: Apparently, this is part of Microsoft's anti-piracy scheme (i.e., all customers are guilty until proven innocent).
